Sessions, concerts, concert-balls, musical conferences ...
Types of entertainment
- Sessions: a sort of Irish trad beef for a pub atmosphere, normally they mostly include instrumental with a few songs from time to time
- Concerts: more or less balanced mix of songs and instrumentals
- Ball concerts: possibility to add a little simple dance, or to work with a dance association for more complex projects
- Musical conferences and mini-exhibitions: we have already organized presentations of Irish music, its instruments, and its songs, sometimes accompanied by a small instrument exhibition.
Two possible configurations
- the Poitin na nGael association in its entirety (between 4 and ten musicians) [2-4 video or sound samples]
- the trio An Currach Dubh, with a more arranged repertoire including more songs for smaller spaces or more intimate atmospheres. [2-4 video or sound samples + maybe a link to a dedicated An Currach Dubh page]
Acoustic or amplified
Our style of music lends itself very well to acoustic performances, but the sound volume remains limited. If amplification is necessary (outdoors or large volumes), the rental of sound equipment is the responsibility of the organizer.
Workshops
In the form of a slow session, we learn the songs by ear, alternating the big classics and lesser-known songs.
